Steve and I - for Chamber Ensemble (2022)

Steve and I is one of my pieces in the minimalist style. Composed my first year of college, I was encapsulated after being taught about composers like LaMonte Young, Steve Reich, and Terry Reilly. That Christmas break, I spent some time trying to emulate Steve Reich’s style, and this piece, “Steve and I,” is the product. While it is structured for a live ensemble, I premiered it by running MIDI signals into the pipe organ in Mees Hall at Capital University.

Both the chamber ensemble version and the pipe organ version are on the EP which I released on my BandCamp page.
